About us

You are here: Home / About us

Welcome to our website. We hope you will find it useful to understand your workplace rights, entitlements or to deal with a problem at work.

We are passionate about helping employees understand their employment rights. Only by knowing them can you be sure of protecting yourself against unfair treatment at work.

On this website you can find out about many of the typical problems you could face at work. Perhaps disciplinary proceedings or dismissal. Redundancy, criticism of your performance or long-term sickness. Or you might want to make a grievance complaint about discrimination, bullying or harassment, or any other unfair treatment at work. We also explain how to represent yourself most effectively.

Professional employee support

We encourage you to become a trade union member if you are not already one. But we also know that over three-quarters of all UK employees are not union members. If you are one of these people, you could be vulnerable to mistreatment at work unless you are aware of your rights and how best to represent yourself.

What you may not have realised is that, if you do have a problem at work, there are only two types of people who can accompany you at meetings with your employer, to help ensure you are treated fairly. Either a fellow work colleague. Or a representative of a trade union. No-one else!

So what if you are not already a union member? Unions won’t let you join to access immediate help if you already have a problem at work. In fact, many restrict access to representation during the first 3 or 6 months of membership.

But WRS will support you. This is why Workplace Representation Services provides such a unique and invaluable service.

WRS – ‘pay when you need it’ union support

WRS provides a unique service for employees. This is tailored to the needs of people who are not currently union members, but nevertheless need immediate support and representation.

Instead of paying union membership on an ongoing monthly basis – typically costing between £160 and £270 per year – we enable employees to only pay for union representation when they need it.

With WRS, you have access to the highest quality union advice, support and representation. Including preparing for, accompanying and representing you at Formal Meetings with your employer.

Experience that counts

You really couldn’t be in better hands than with WRS.

We are led by an exceptionally knowledgeable and experienced specialist, with over 30 years experience working at a senior level for a trade union. He has led negotiations with employers – ranging in size from FTSE 100 to small enterprises – and handled many TUPE transfers and large-scale redundancy programmes.

He has also represented thousands of individuals with workplace problems. This has been for employees of all levels of seniority – from the most junior right up to senior executive level. Tackling just about every conceivable type of employee problem, including the most complex of casework.

And as if that was not enough, he also has a Masters Degree in Industrial Relations and is qualified at CIPD Level 7 in Employment Law.
